Acclaim Parks' Gateway Caravan Park is located in Norseman, the gateway to Western Australia for travellers coming from the East. It is an ideal base from which to explore and enjoy a range of experiences - the rich mining history, some of nature's magic, including Wave Rock, wonderful views and picnic spots, walks and adventure trails or trying your luck as a prospector.

Gateway Caravan Park offers powered, drive through and camping sites.  Caravan sites with concrete pads are available as well as larger motorhome and 5th wheeler sites.  Facilities onsite include laundry, camp kitchen, BBQs and disabled facilities in ablution blocks.

Clean and well appointed ensuite chalets and cabins are available at Gateway Caravan Park as well as onsite cabins for budget conscious travellers.

Granite Woodlands Discovery Trail
Links Norseman to Hyden and Wave Rock and is a delight of beautiful woodlands, stunning granite rocks, spectacular wildflowers in spring and numerous picnic spots that include some walk trails, along the way.

Phoenix Park
This educational and historical mining park is close to the town centre. Items of machinery, equipment and buildings representing our mining history are displayed along pathways. For more information visit


Heritage Trail
The original Cobb & Co route starts in town and meanders through the bushland for about 20Km to the site where settlement was first established on Lake Dundas in 1893. The Picnic area is set amongst the trees. For more informaiton

Beacon Hill
Take 5 minute drive along Mines Road for a 360° view over the township and surrounding countryside and lakes. There is also a short walk trail and historical information at the top.


Tailings Dump
As you drive up to Beacon Hill there is the opportunity to view the grand sculptured Tailings Dump that sits on the side of the road. This is a residue left over from processing gold and this particular dump still has a lot of gold left in it. For more information visit


Bromus Dam   
Approx 32kms south of Norseman. A popular local swimming and picnic spot. For more infomation visit


Gemstone Fossicking
The Norseman Visitors Centre issues fossicking permits and maps for those interested in finding Agate gemstones in the area. For more information visit


Historical Museum 
There is a wonderful collection of memorabilia housed in what used to be the 'School of Mines' building.


Horse Statue 
The lovely bronze statue of “Norseman” recognises the part the horse played in establishing the town.

Corrugated Iron Camels
The brilliant life size beasts are a tribute to the camel trains that carried all the freight and mail in the early days.

Located in the town centre. A fantastic display of dolls and toys from the past to the present.

Dollykissangel has been established for over 10 years and is located in the main street of town between the bank and cafe.This unique business boasts well over 5,000 dolls and teddies and is the largest doll museum in Western Australia. With over 60,000 travellers passing by each year.

Terms and Conditions


All booking changes / cancellations required to be received in writing.

A $30 cancellation fee will be charged for all cancellations.

Low season cancellations require 30 days notification – full refund less cancellation fee

High season cancellations require 60 days notification – full refund less cancellation fee

Please note that if cancellation occurs less than the required notice period, there is NO refund applicable, however monies paid may be held in client account for a maximum of 12 months, to enable guest to rebook. No name changes or transfers are permitted. The tariff may vary depending on if re-booked for high / low season.

Bookings made via a third party need to be cancelled via the same agent e.g.,


Tariffs quoted are for number of adults / children advised at time of quotation. The tariff will vary if the number of guests changes or if there is a tariff increase. The tariff payable is that applicable at date of arrival

Deposits & Payments

Online bookings – Full payment at time of booking

Park direct bookings – 1st night payable in low season, 50% of total booking payable for high season. Bookings are not confirmed until deposits are received.

Late checkout

May be available – check with manager at time of booking (a fee may be payable).

Being a pet-friendly Park we welcome TOURIST CARAVANNERS with small pets, subject to the following conditions:

* The prospective guest must make it clear they will be traveling with a pet in their caravan at the time of booking
* Pets must be kept on a lead at all times when not in the guest's caravan
* Park Pet Policy must be adhered to at all times (copy provided at check in or prior to on request).

We regret we are unable to permit large dogs or dogs of a breed that may cause other guests to experience anxiety or fear for their safety. For this reason, breeds such as rottweilers and pit bull terriers are expressly forbidden in the Park.
