Gateway Welcomes International Guests with a Treat!
Chamberlain 9G Tractor Club of WA Inc.
The spectacular sight of a bright orange 9G Chamberlain Tractor, was a visual delight to our park international guests, and fellow in house travellers as it rumbled down the park entrance before coming to a halt to check-in with its owner driver Pete and caravan in tow.
It was a rare and splendid photo opportunity as the humble tractor was engulfed for photo ‘selfies’ and happy snaps to send home abroad.
Famous workhorses of the late 50’s and 60’s, was the 9G Chamberlain Tractor, designed and built in Western Australia.
They can traverse rock, mud, sand and relatively deep water, made comfortable to drive, and have a reputation of being a ‘go anywhere machine’, with a top speed of 50-60km/h.
Our group of passionate ‘9G’ Club members all having arrived safely, settled into their camp to re-group over a twilight barbecue dinner and a peaceful night’s rest ahead before trekking across the Nullarbor continuing on their Tour.
With the support crews leaving early at day break the following morning, and the ‘ole Chamberlain’ tailing behind didn’t seem to mind the attention of a captive audience hailing well wishes and a safe journey.
Cars Aussies Love!
Our park manager Darren is a huge Falcon GT fan from as far back to his youth when his first was a GT, so you can imagine his great pleasure when a family group of very down to earth GT owners and their awesome cars arrived to stay with us.
Darren was invited to drive one of the cars, and showcasing around the park before escorting our guests to their awaiting fully self-contained Ensuite chalets.
We received huge thanks for our friendly country hospitality with a personal touch.
Can’t wipe that smile!
MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone..
May this Christmas spread cheer in your travels and the New Year brings bright beginnings to fresh adventures.
Best wishes from all of us here at the Gateway!
